Development & Background
Introduced in 2014 by Piaggio Aerospace, the Avanti EVO was built on decades of aerodynamic research and the success of the Avanti II. Multiple upgrades followed across performance, efficiency, and passenger experience: new winglets improved climb rate and reduced drag by 3%, upgraded Pratt & Whitney PT6A-66B engines delivered higher thrust and better fuel efficiency, and five-blade composite propellers cut noise levels by up to 20% while smoothing out the ride.
Combined with its forward canards, main wings, and tailplanes, these updates create a uniquely efficient three-lifting-surface airflow — letting the EVO cruise above 400 knots while burning roughly 40% less fuel than a traditional light jet.
Built by Piaggio Aerospace in Genoa, Italy, more than 20 Avanti EVOs are in service worldwide, supported by a dedicated Piaggio service network across Europe and the U.S.
