Development & Background

From Galaxy Aerospace to Gulfstream

Originally designed by Israel Aircraft Industries and known as the Galaxy 1126, the aircraft was renamed the Gulfstream G200 after Gulfstream Aerospace acquired Galaxy Aerospace in 2001. This acquisition allowed Gulfstream to add a large-cabin, long-range jet alongside its midsize lineup, combining transcontinental performance with large-cabin comfort. Production ran until 2011, when the G200 was replaced by the Gulfstream G280.

"I was surprised at how roomy the G200 felt — the stand-up cabin and smooth flight made our 5-hour trip feel effortless."
— FlyRoving Executive Client
"Gulfstream's design quality really shows in the G200 — it's quiet, comfortable, and the cabin feels more like a large jet than a midsize."

A true stand-up, large-cabin experience

The Gulfstream G200 has a fully stand-up, flat-floor cabin configurable for 8 to 10 passengers, typically in a club-four arrangement with divan seating. Amenities include a full galley with microwave or oven, an espresso maker, and glassware storage. An enclosed rear lavatory includes a vanity mirror and wardrobe space. The 150-cubic-foot baggage compartment holds multiple large suitcases and golf bags, with Wi-Fi, power outlets, and entertainment options available on most chartered models.

Capabilities & Performance

Transcontinental range, proven power

The G200 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A engines producing 6,040 lbs of thrust. These engines allow a cruise at Mach 0.8 (470 knots), reaching 41,000 ft in under 20 minutes, with a maximum range of 3,400 nm — enough for a nonstop charter from Houston to Anchorage or Los Angeles to Miami.
