Development & Background
The Dassault Falcon 8X is the flagship of Dassault Aviation, succeeding the Falcon 7X with re-engineering for greater range, enhanced comfort, and reduced operating costs. The Falcon 8X was introduced in 2014 and certified in 2016 by the FAA and EASA, after more than 800 flight-test hours and rigorous wind-tunnel testing in both Europe and the U.S.
Dassault engineers extended the fuselage by 3.6 ft and refined the wings with new winglets and structural reinforcement to handle additional fuel — increasing maximum range by nearly 500 nautical miles over the 7X.
The Falcon 8X is powered by three Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307D turbofan engines, each producing 6,722 lbs of thrust, offering exceptional efficiency, low noise output, and long inspection intervals. Combined with a fuel capacity of over 35,000 lbs, the 8X can connect city pairs such as Los Angeles to Beijing, New York to Dubai, or Paris to Singapore without refueling.
The aircraft also features the Dassault EASy III flight deck, based on Honeywell's Primus Epic avionics, including the FalconEye Combined Vision System (CVS) — the world's first head-up display to blend synthetic and enhanced vision imagery for safer approaches in poor visibility. Dassault's fighter-jet pedigree from the Rafale and Mirage programs heavily influenced this cockpit technology.

The Falcon 8X's cabin measures 42.6 ft in length and is configurable across up to 30 distinct layouts, from business-focused seating to private staterooms with full berths. Passengers enjoy an exceptionally low cabin altitude of 3,900 ft at 41,000 ft cruise — one of the lowest in business aviation — contributing to reduced fatigue on long flights.
Noise levels average below 49 dB, thanks to Dassault's advanced soundproofing, large panoramic windows, and custom lighting designed to reduce jet lag. Amenities include a full galley (often with oven and espresso options), an enclosed lavatory, and an optional shower suite, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio, and satellite communications standard in most configurations. Each cabin is handcrafted at Dassault's facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, where clients can personalize materials, seating, and finishes.
