Development & Background

Refining the Challenger 300 formula

The Bombardier Challenger 350 stands as a benchmark in the super-midsize private jet category, offering an elite balance of range, cabin luxury, and operational reliability. Building on the legacy of the Challenger 300, this upgraded model refines nearly every detail from performance to passenger comfort, making it a preferred choice for executives, entertainers, and families seeking coast-to-coast or international missions with style. The aircraft was a wide success — by 2018, over 50 Challenger 350s were being delivered every month, taking up more than half of the super-midsize business jet market.

After the major success of the Bombardier Challenger 300, Bombardier Aerospace launched the Challenger 350 in 2014. It brought a new era of comfort and refinement to the super-midsize market, including advanced avionics, upgraded Honeywell engines, a strengthened wing with canted winglets, and a redesigned interior cabin with 20% taller cabin windows. The new Honeywell HTF7350 engines provided 7,323 lbs of thrust per engine, improving climb and range performance, with emphasis placed on operational flexibility — shorter takeoffs and stronger performance out of smaller or medium fields.

By 2020, the Challenger 350 had achieved its 350th delivery after only six years in service, proving its reliability and dependability.

"It's my go-to jet for cross-country business trips. Quiet, fast, and exceptionally smooth — the Challenger 350 never disappoints."

Capabilities & Performance

Mach 0.83 cruise, 20% better fuel burn

Equipped with twin Honeywell HTF7350 turbofan engines, the Challenger 350 climbs directly to 43,000 ft in under 20 minutes, cruising efficiently at Mach 0.83 (470 knots) with roughly 20% lower fuel burn than large-cabin jets. That performance profile supports nonstop routes such as New York to Los Angeles, Houston to Seattle, Miami to San Francisco, or Dallas to Vancouver.

Pilots are equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, including synthetic vision and real-time weather tracking, for smooth operations and safety in all conditions.
